Month-long White River Festival starts today– includes a natural history hike at Mounds State Park

Mounds State Park would be significantly negatively affected by a reservoir on White River.


Natural History Hike At Mounds State Park
When: Saturday September 28th 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Mounds State Park
Please join us for a 2 mile 2 hour hike through a variety of plant communities in Mounds State Park including upland woodland, floodplain forest, and seep wetland (adjacent to the trail – waterproof shoes not required). We will hike along a beautiful cobble-bottomed stretch of the White River as well. Led by botantist and co-author ofThe Additions to the Flora of Mounds State Park, Kevin Tungesvick. Mud and biting insects are possible.
Registration is not required, however the event will begin promptly at 10 AM. Participant must pay entry fee to the park. Otherwise the event is free. The hike will leave from the Visitors Center.
