“Emotion is a fact”

“They’d say ‘Stick to the facts’.  I’d say: ‘Look, emotion is a fact.  The solitude of the wilderness, the beauty of a flower– those are facts.”  (Ike Livermore) from The River Stops Here by Ted Simon

Should we not also add the poetry of a free-flowing stream as an essential fact in the weighing of evidence about the proposed damming of the White River?
